Te Whare Wānanga 

Te Whare Wānanga o Te Waipounamu was set up in 1994 to deliver practical, hands-on training for minita-a-iwi and laity in the Anglican Māori Diocese of Te Waipounamu and throughout Australasia. Kaupapa Whakahaere – our mission statement

Te Whare Wānanga o Te Waipounamu sees education and training as the way forward for our people. Tikanga Māori and Karaitiana Māori are at the heart of Te Whare Wānanga. Te Whare Wānanga aims to deliver matauranga Māori through quality education and training.

Our overall aim

Te Whare Wānanga provides quality education and training in Tikanga Māori within a Māori context in order to proclaim Te Rongopai o te Karaiti and further Christ's work of justice and redemption.
