People of the South
The Anglican Church of New Zealand is divided into three cultural streams: Tikanga Māori , Tikanga Pakeha and Tikanga Pasifika. Tikanga Māori is called Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa and is divided up into five Hui Amorangi. Te Hui Amorangi o Te Waipounamu is the Anglican Māori Diocese serving the South Island, Stewart Island and Chatham Islands of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our Hui Amorangi also serves Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in Australia.
Te Pihopa o Te Waipounamu is based at 290 Ferry Road, Phillipstown, Christchurch.
